THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Acclaimed for his work in nearly every literary genre known to humanity, Calvin Trillin has been characterized as “perhaps the finest reporter in America.” For more than fifty years, he has contributed informative and insightful works of journalism to The New Yorker, while his books chronicling his adventures as a “happy eater” have mapped the dining geography of many locales. Most important for his appearance in the Humor Initiative Series of the Center of the American West, Trillin’s energetic, wry, and often unsettling commentary on the American scene have earned him renown as “a classic American humorist.” Mr. Trillin, a native of Kansas City and a resident of New York City, will offer a fresh perspective to enrich our thinking about the American West, as well as the nation at large. The fortunate members of his audience on April 27 will find their understanding–of the world we live in–both rattled and deepened.
Special thanks to Bill and Jane Reynolds for their support of the Center of the American West’s Humor Initiative.
