The population pyramid for Nevada may be the least accurate in all the West
until it's updated with 2000 census data. Demographers in the early 1990s
expected the state's retirement boom to dominate its future age
distribution, but we suspect recent population growth is mostly related to job growth
and the state's 2020 pyramid will not be as top-heavy as forecast here.
